Sub and Super Gendered

Appearances of super powered creatures pervade contemporary popular culture in both fictional and non-fictional forms. These creatures have powers such as immortality which transcend gender related strife or are the progeny of some altogether non-gendered species. Alien sightings and specimens are usually described as lacking gender distinction in appearance and at times, function; being able to propagate themselves individually or even without resource to any physiological process. Their ability to remain aloof from acts of reproduction are similar to those of both real and imagined robots which have populated the contemporary imagination for decades.

:Likewise, fictional characters from popular entertainment including comic books are often free of procreative entanglements. This freedom allows them to either arrive on earth as conquerors or saviors of the human species as it struggles for survival.
